I'm not generally a pirate fan, but I thought that perhaps with a female pirate, it would provide the strong female characters that I prefer/5(13). Don't judge a book by it's cover. I admit, based on the cover and seeing this was a book about a pirate, this book was definitely not something I would normally read.
But I got it in a used book swap, and decided to give it a try. So glad I did. The Pirate Queen is a great historical fiction read/5.
